TRICKER'S TWO TONE BROGUE - BLACK
Made In England
Tricker’s is England’s oldest shoemaker — established in Northampton in 1829, Royal Warrant holders, and original bootmaker to the British Army. This boot is an exclusive collaboration between Tricker’s and Indigo and Goods: a fusion of two British styles that have no obvious reason to exist together, and work completely. The classic Tricker’s Country Brogue — punched detailing, Goodyear welt, commando sole — combined with the construction logic of the military Jungle Boot: a leather and cloth combination that gives the upper flexibility and breathability without sacrificing structure. Each pair takes 8 weeks to make and undergoes 260 processes from start to finish in the Northampton factory. Handmade in England. Built to last decades.
Construction
The upper combines black Olivvia deerskin leather with 18oz woven cotton whipcord panels — a reference to the original military jungle boot, which used a leather and cloth combination for softness and flexibility in the field. The deerskin is tanned using olive leaves, a fully sustainable process that produces a leather with a fine, close grain and a natural suppleness. The half bellows tongue is folded and attached to the boot for water resistance. Classic punched brogue detailing throughout. Goodyear welt construction — the gold standard of shoe construction, where the upper, welt, and sole are stitched together in a way that allows the sole to be replaced, extending the life of the boot indefinitely. Commando sole unit for grip and durability. Cork infill — moulds to the foot over time for a fit that improves with wear.
Details
Black interior. Dual branded insole printed in gold — Tricker’s and Indigo and Goods. Black rolled waxed laces. Black woven heel pull. 4497 last — a generous fit, true to regular UK sizing. Comes with Tricker’s shoe bags and box.
Styling
The two-tone construction — leather and whipcord — gives this boot more visual interest than a standard brogue, and the commando sole grounds it in workwear rather than dress. Wears well with the English Worker Trouser in any colourway, and works equally well with the Loose Fatigue worn cuffed. Smart enough for an occasion, robust enough for daily wear.
Pairs well with
- English Worker Trouser in Black or Olive Drab— tonal pairing that lets the boot do the work
- Loose Fatigue in Black Ripstop — worn cuffed to show the boot construction
- Shawl Collar Cardigan — for a considered, layered look from the ground up
